MMA Link Club: Top Stories for Week of November 13th

Once again we’ve gathered the best MMA news from the baddest websites on the ‘net so that 5thRound nation won’t miss a beat! Make sure to check out the links after the jump.
Former Pride stars Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Dan Henderson headlined UFC 139 last night in what could be a nominee for fight of the year.
Fans also got to see MMA legends Wanderlei Silva and Cung Le throw down in the co-main event.
Also in action today is former top heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko, who’s looking for a return to relevance against Jeff Monson.
Enough talk, onto this past week’s top news:
Exclusive Interview with Fedor Emelianenko [Lowkick]
“I don’t know if intentionally or not, it rather happened naturally. I did a little bit of barbell workout over here, which I enjoy a lot. So I just went up in muscle mass. I always quickly gain muscle, it’s never been a problem for me.”
Exclusive Interview with Eddie Alvarez [MMAMania]
“As one of the top-ranked fighters on the planet not employed by Zuffa, Eddie Alvarez keeps himself grounded by surrounding himself with champions.”
Remember when Joe Rogan was on the cover of Black Belt Magazine [TheFightNerd]
“This is not a photoshop, this was the actual cover of “Black Belt” magazine from December, 2002. Rogan was interviewed by Ryan Schneider, mainly to promote Rogan’s then-new reality show, “Fear Factor.””
BJ Penn’s pound for pound legacy [Fightline]
“Penn has been a polarizing figure throughout his career, praised for his otherworldly talent and criticized for what has been perceived as a lack of work ethic.”
UFC on Fox Payout Perspective [MMAPayout]
“Welcome to another edition of Payout Perspective! This week we’ll be taking a look at the UFC on FOX network debut headlined by the UFC Heavyweight Title bout between Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos.”
Roy Nelson says he’s fighting Cheick Kongo, UFC says he’s not [CagePotato]
“Within the past 12 hours, Roy Nelson went from knowing who he would be fighting next to not having a clue.”
Dan Henderson is one of the all-time greats [BleacherReport]
“Already considered one of the best fighters to never win a UFC belt, Henderson has had a remarkable career, winning multiple titles in Pride and holding the light heavyweight title in Strikeforce, all while defeating some of the best fighters in the world.”
Deconstructing Zuffa’s lawsuit versus New York [MMAConvert]
“The crux of the lawsuit is that “A live professional MMA event is both sport and theater”, and as such, it’s a form of free speech that should be protected by the First Amendment of the Constitution.”
Chael Sonnen calls Anderson Silva “fruity boy” [FightOpinion]
“In one of the most execrable, wretched, content-free MMA interviews you could possibly watch, Michael Landsberg did his best to be insufferable, pretentious, ignorant, and obnoxious while talking to one-trick gimmick pony Chael Sonnen.”
Melvin Guillard vs. Jim Miller headlining UFC on FX [MMAFighting]
“The UFC announced on Twitter Thursday evening that a lightweight battle between Guillard and Miller will be the main event of the FX card.”
Wanderlei Silva hopes to fight in Japan before retiring [Five Ounces of Pain]
“I made my (career) in Japan and I had the best times of my life there. I’ve had a lot of fun and I need to give one more fight there.”
Six unfiltered minutes with the biggest Trevor Smith fan [MiddleEasy]
“My God this Trevor Smith fan. I hope he stretched properly and warmed up his vocal chords before attending Strikeforce Challengers last night, otherwise this dude is going to be real sore this morning. Real sore.”

Sure looks extremely similar to a BlackBerry device, doesn't it? Well, the Motorola Admiral is far from a BlackBerry device, in fact it is an Android 2.3.4 powered device that offers a 3.1-inch display and a physical QWERTY on the bottom. For someone like myself who began their smartphone days with a BlackBerry device the form factor is very comforting, and the keyboard is the best I have felt to date on any Android device. Very similar in size and shape to the Motorola Droid Pro, the biggest difference on this one is the display. Unlike the Droid Pro, this 3.1-inch display offers a 640x480 resolution, making the display a lot crisper, and worth using. While 3.1-inch is small in comparison to most of the 4-inch displays we are used to seeing, the combination of this sized display and the keyboard makes for a near perfect (to me atleast) form factor. Software wise this is running Android 2.3.4 with the usual PhilBlur on top of it, but the 1.2GHz processor allows the software to move quite smoothly. The 5MP camera on the back also supports video capture of up to 720P, which is more than enough for a camera on your cell phone. Priced at only $99 on a new contract, if you are looking to replace your old BlackBerry device with something new, or looking to regain that form factor, the Motorola Admiral is something you won't want to pass up. Hit the break for a video tour, and some additional pictures! read more
